Amazing Chinese food... And this is coming from a very picky New Yorker. Hands down the best in Charleston. All the entrees are delicious. The service and decor are great as well. If you have a chance to get the Peking Duck, it's the best I've ever had.

Dragon Palace is not your ordinary take-out place. The food is phenomenal, and while it's more on the higher end, like you'd normally associate with a P.F. Chang's, it's worlds better. The food tastes better, it's a bit cheaper (though it's definitely not a CHEAP meal - I think the Pork Lo Mein is like $11), the service is great, and you don't have ridiculous decor that looks like a crappy Chinese food place made sweet love to a Russian factory. Anyway, I digress. The restaurant is quiet, but you can definitely bring kids here. We've brought Pax, and even on a cranky day, no one gave us the hairy eyeball. The dim sum is awesome, as is the gyoza, and I've had the pork lo mein both times we've got, it's just that good. They've got some interesting variety on their cocktails, but they're rather expensive. They also don't understand that a dry martini has ZERO dry vermouth in it, not EXTRA dry vermouth, but I've almost gotten used to having to say that I really just want vodka and olives.

and decided it was a "must try" restaurant. What a disappointment! Sure, the atmosphere is stunning, but the food was mediocre, at best. The main entrees we had were on par with your average neighborhood Chinese take-away and the dim sum was the worst we had ever eaten. ...?

This place is a huge disappointment considering the hefty price tag most of the dishes carry. The quality is lousy and the portions are mediocre. The only time it's worth going is during happy hour when the appetizers are half price. ...?

Hands down the best Chinese in the Charleston area. I also like that it's not a buffet and doesn't have the typical chinese restaurant decor. I suggest calling ahead and making reservations for dinner. I don't think they bother with them for ...?

This is not a Chinese buffet - this is a beautifully decorated, gorgeous restaurant. The food is authentic and delicious, if a little pricey (Get the duck, its worth it). I really like their tea as well. ...?

Menu has changed, no more sea bass. Slow service, shrinking portions, quality much lower than a year ago. This is one to pass by until they get back to the basics of a good quality meal at a fair price. ...?

The food is really good and lunch runs about the $8 mark. Dinner prices are around the $15 mark with enough food that you'll need to take some home. The inside of the restaurant has an authentic non-cheap atmosphere and the wait staff is pretty attentive. The only time I would avoid going here is when they have an event on the island such as the Circle Cup. Overall I really enjoy having a quality Chinese restaurant on Daniel Island.?
